What do current owners have to say about this Mixer?

Johann F.,

Wonderful item, it does what it says it does. Out of the box, installation was less than 10 mins with installation of the software and drivers. I was up and running and after figuring out some of the functions that weren’t that well described in the manual, pretty soon it took me back to the old days when I used to mix vinyl records. The problem is that the jog dials, though very responsive, aren’t accurate enough for the scratching motions needed for turntablist hip hop scratching. You can scratch and do pullbacks and do some scratch tricks, just don’t expect to be mixmaster mike with this fader

Tonium Pacemaker Imagine your 60GB or 120GB iPod. Wouldn’t it be great if it could mix tracks together as well? Well that’s exactly what the Tonium Pacemaker is, a pocket-sized DJ Mixer! In this Tonium Pacemaker Review, I will let you know all about this exciting gadget, what’s good about it, what’s not so good about it and whether or not it’s the right choice for you.The Tonium Pacemakeris great for being on the move and wanting to play or practice on the bus, plane, trains and those boring long car journeys. The simple fact that this little device squeezes so much in the way of performance and functionality into a space no bigger than a handheld game device is incredible. The touch pad and buttons on the Tonium Pacemaker respond at lightning speed which will make your latest top brand touch screen phone seem slow. The portable DJ Mixer even comes with Tonium’s very own software for Mac or PC which will let you refine mixes created on the Pacemaker and save them or share them to the community.

You would think that this hand held, 4 Channel DJ System would consume a lot of power and not last very long with the amount of features it has. However, the Tonium Pacemaker can last up to 5 hours of mixing tracks and an astonishing 18 hours of playback only. It also only takes 2 hours to fully charge using the AC adapter included in the box or , if you use the mini-USB connection, it could take 4 hours. I recommend you check out the video below so you can see the Pacemaker in action.

The Cheapest Place to buy the Tonium Pacemaker is at Amazon

Let’s take a look at the Portable DJ Mixer’s Features:

  • Each virtual deck includes an adjustable three-band EQ section, an effects section (filter, echo, reverb, and roll), and controls for gain, pitch, cue point, track scan, and loop points
  • Displays the BPM of the current track and offers a generous pitch adjustment range of +/-100 percent
  • Capability to record and save mixes
  • Cue – auto-cue at track start and set cue point.
  • Dynamic beat detection – 0.1 BPM precision
  • For a full, detailed list of the Tonium Pacemaker’s features, see the manufacturers description.
The Good
  • Costs much less than buying a whole DJ setup
  • Can get out of the booth onto the dance floor when DJ-ing (take the party with you!)
  • Very small, take it with you anywhere and practice – create mixes while on the bus!
  • You can record and save your mixes
  • Great for professional DJ’s and people wanting to get into the DJ scene!
The Bad
  • Cannot modify two or more controls simultaneously
  • Pitch only speed adjustment
  • Lack of scratch control

This pocket sized DJ Mixer is for:

  1. Professional DJ’s wanting to interact more with his audiences
  2. Anybody wanting a cheap, easy way to start DJing
  3. Someone who wants to practice, experiment and create mixes while travelling
  4. Students and party-goers who want to take the party with them easily to every house party

Overall, for the price you will pay for this DJ Mixer, I have to say that it is the best portable DJ device currently on the market which is why it won innovation awards when it was original released in 2008. I will not hesitate to say that this DJ Mixer has nothing on a setup with Pioneer CDJ’s for example, but what it does have is the ability to leave the booth and heaps of creativity. I think this will be a winner among young DJ’s, especially because it can be used literally anywhere!

Let me show you what current owners think:

Mr. M. Charalambous.,

I’d heard a lot of great stuff about the Pacemaker from DJ friends, so when it arrived, I couldn’t wait to get the box open. The packaging itself was pretty cool – all black and sleek with photos of mysterious Day-Glo-coloured people in various states of repose, wearing headphones. Once I slid the outer sleeve off and got down to the inner chamber, there she was, nestled snugly in a bed of black foam.

Product Review – Is the Behringer BCD3000 the right Mixer for you?

Behringer BCD3000 DJ Mixer Review

Cost:
Looks:
Features:

Available on Amazon for $151.96 here.

I’ll say one thing for the Behringer BCD3000 DJ Mixer… for the price, it’s one versatile piece of hardware. On the plus side, it’s feature rich out of the box. It combines dual play, mixing (with 4-channel USB audio interface), mic/phono preamps, dedicated effects, full-fledged monitor section, multiple audio format capability, comes with Traktor 3 LE DJ software but easily integrates other DJ software, Windows/Mac compatible and much more.

The vast majority of complaints I’ve seen appear to be related to o/s freeze-ups and software crashes – and more specifically, with compatibility issues. In fairness, running ‘any’ hardware without checking it’s compatibility specs first is frankly… foolhardy. It actually works fine when not being mishandled or linked to a system that it is incompatible with. Setup is easy enough though time consuming. However, 64 bit support as far as I can tell is non-existent.

You can buy this mixer CHEAPEST from Amazon.

Despite a vast range of attractive features, the BCD3000′s interface is smaller than one might expect. This translates into (most notably) small spinners which could make scratching challenging for some. That aside, it’s overall functionality is more than acceptable. The Traktor 3 LE software integrates nicely with iTunes playlists and greatly enhances stability. Sliders, knobs and buttons while crowded are well placed. Responsive scratching control, decent performing Midi, impressive beat jumping and convenient hook-up to your turntables (for simultaneous mp3/vinyl mixing) are all relative.

Check out the BCD3000 in action:

What you’re getting with Behringer’s BCD3000 DJ Mixer is a model for enthusiasts & pro-sumers with some moderately advanced features and enough versatility to be a consistent performer. It’s the type controller that can take one’s minimal skills to the next level if so inclined. The unit is transportable, durability is acceptable and cost is nominal (especially considering it’s features). The BCD3000′s main downside is it’s marginal size but one really can’t expect perfection.

What current owners have to say:

Kiko L.,

This is EXACTLY what I was looking for! Although it comes with Traktor 3 LE, you can also use it with Traktor 3 Pro as well as Torq and Virtual DJ. When using with Traktor 3 Pro, all you need to do is use the .tks midi configuration file from the LE version and all of the controls will be configured for you.

Wow! Typhoon USB DJ MIDI Controller: Why it’s the BEST MIDI Controller around!

Vestax Typhoon USB DJ MIDI Controller Review

Cost:

Features:

Available on Amazon for $289.99 here.

Vestax Typhoon DJ MIDI Controller The best way to describe the Typhoon USB DJ MIDI Controller is to say, ‘It’s diverse enough for professionals but tailor-made for novices’. Aesthetically, it has an attractive look featuring a stylish black frame highlighted by red trim, white buttons (which illuminate when depressed) and chrome metal jog/platter wheels (which also illuminate) in a standard two channel design. It’s also a tad on the lightweight side. So, if you engage in DJ battles, heavy scratching or sophisticated beat juggling you may want to look elsewhere. The Typhoon is ideal for such tasks as spinning parties, creating mixtapes and for honing one’s technical skills. The controls are easy to manipulate and it has very responsive platters for high efficiency mixing/scratching. It’s lightweight design however doesn’t make it a credible candidate for more heavy-duty usage. Typhoon’s strength lies in it’s compact, portable design and straightforward, user-friendly interface. It’s as mobile as you need it to be.

Buy the Typhoon USB DJ Controller on Amazon (cheapest place).

The Typhoon USB DJ MIDI Controller is PC & Mac compatible. Minor issues with the filter & headphone monitor LED’s (when linked to a MAC) have been resolved via firmware upgrading (check website support for details). It comes with it’s own soundcard thus acting as a standalone mixing unit. This makes for practically zero drain on computer resources. Traktor LE bundled software is included but be advised, is not supported on some systems.

The Vestax Corporation is known for innovative sound developments and catering to the needs of nightclubs and DJ’s. Their mixers are touted by International DJ’s and radio/party jocks (including such legends as DJ Craze, Carl Cox and Cut Chemist). Ultimately, the Typhoon USB DJ MIDI Controller is great at what it does. Stick within the range of it’s capabilities and you can get a great deal of mileage from this little portable wonder.

What do the owners think?

O. Robinson.,

Very Nice Machine, comes with Tractor Le software you just have to register the software after loading. I was mixing using cd’s for years, this cuts out cd’s skipping, not being able to enjoy a party becuz i have to listen every darn second to make sure im not skipping. Very user friendly, I actually scouted the Typhoon for about 6months prior to purchasing, I saw clips on YouTube and could not find it anywhere in the U.S.A. I ended up getting one from EBay it came from Canada. Ive had mine about 2months now and im darn near a professional.

Behringer DDM4000 DJ Mixer Review: Worth the Price Tag?

Behringer DDM4000 DJ Mixer Review

Behringer DDM4000 DJ Mixer Whether you’re just getting started or a seasoned DJ, this mixer offers the best features for the money. The Behringer DDM4000 DJ Mixer offers many of the features of the higher end mixers while still being affordable for almost any budget. This is currently on sale on Amazon for $406.96 – that’s OVER 50% OFF!

One of the top features of this DJ mixer is the ability to have multiple user accounts, making it ideal for anyone who shares the equipment. This can be beneficial for club owners who have multiple DJs using their equipment as each DJ can store their settings on an account, making it easier to get set up between sets. Settings such as kill frequency and FX settings can be saved, which can be very important for anyone trying to prepare for their set quickly. Anyone who plays different styles of music may also enjoy the different accounts since it’s possible to set one up for each style of music.

One of my favorite features is the BPM-synced sampler. This sampler makes it really easy to add in new music and loop it without having to worry about gaps or missing a beat. This feature is excellent for both new and experienced DJs because it offers seamless transitions when mixing in new or existing music.

Let’s take a look at what the current owners have to say:

Jerry J.,

The more highlighted features are the sampler and the effects as well as the number of channels I can use. I played around with the effects a little while and am loving the sound that is being produced. Surprisingly, the sound doesn’t sound so cracked or broken. The smoothness of the sound is great. I also like the kill switches that it has. Although I had a little while to explore this mixer, I can confidently say I DID NOT waste money. Granted, Pioneer may make a solid mixer themselves, the price that Behringer was right down my alley.

For the money, the DDM4000 DJ Mixer combines a lot of the best features from some of the more expensive mixers without compromising on quality. Four cross-fader stereo channels can be used for either deck or vinyl systems and have up to 12 dB of boost each as well as an EQ kill switch per side. The wide variety of settings this mixer contains allows any DJ to let their creativity shine easily. You can purchase the Behringer DDM4000 on Amazon through this link.

A great feature of the Hercules DJ Control MP3 e2 is that it is relatively small and light and includes a cover for protection which makes this mixer very safe and easy to transport.

  • Ultra-mobile enabling easy transportation

Overall, for the price that they charge for this, you will find no better entry-level MP3 controller. There are definitely more sophisticated DJ consoles and mixers out there, but for a beginner, this is the best mixer to buy.

Let me show you what current owners have to say about it.

David A.,

I’ve dallied with many combinations of DJ software for the past 13 years all of which have been good, but always show their short comings relatively quickly as to why they would not be reliable or suitable to use as a replacement to a bulky CD/Mixer Case or Rack for mobile gigs.

Well forget all that, you can use this little unit for ALL DJ gigs. Arguably it is marketed as being designed for entry level/enthusiast use while other models like the MKII or RMX are touted as being more suited for professional use.
